| Hi,
I am Jisun Kim, an international student from Korea and it is my great pleasure to have a chance to tell you that how wonderful time I had with my host family in Marietta. There are two very important things that made me think Marietta as my second hometown. “The loving host family” and “places to visit in Marietta!” It is true that I felt nervous before meeting the host family, but that feeling has just gone when my host mother hugged me as soon as she saw me at the first meeting at church. Yes! People were so friendly and nice that I could spend two weeks as being a family member. I had a host father, mother and a sister. And we cooked together, played with bunny and kitties, went to see my sister’s dance performance. Also, at Christmas I joined the family reunion and got lots of Christmas presents from Santa Claus. The other thing is that there are lots of places to go and see there. The CIH program in Marietta was full of many exciting visits. For example, I went to the CNN building (I was an audience for the Live Show here!), Coca Cola museum, ‘Gone with the Wind” museum, Martin Luther King, Jr. museum, Jimmy Carter museum, Stone mountain, Baseball stadium and so on! I did not know they had so many attractive places to visit. I am sure they are going to make a great schedule for you this year too! And during these trips! I could get along with many international students from other country!! It was really sad when I had to say goodbye after two weeks with my host family, but my relationship with them went on after that. I met them for the Spring Break and they invited me again right before I flew back to Korea. I cannot tell you everything that I did and enjoyed with them because there are too much. If you have a chance to have a host family, you will have a real good time with your family and with other international students. Also you will learn how to love people!! Nov 5, 2003 from Korea
